Wedding Shoes.
After a TON of contemplation between what kind of shoe I wanted for my wedding, I came across a pair of DARLING flats that are entirely too expensive. So, my friend Mikaela offered to create my very own custom-made wedding flats and I know for a fact they are going to be simply amazing, since she is fantastic at making things. :)
Here is the main shoe we are basing the homemade one off of:

Say Yes to the Dress.
It's official... as of today my wedding dress will be purchased. And yes, it's from BHLDN and yes, it is one of the many photos I posted a few days ago. But can I tell you which one it is? NOPE! That one is a surprise, either for those of you attending the wedding or those of you who will be viewing the photos after everything has come and gone.

New Purchases.
I went to Anthropologie the other day and got two decorative pieces for the wedding. The mugs I am unsure what I am going to fill with yet or place, but the letters I plan on hanging from a rafter inside of the barn where the reception is going to be held, over the table that is going to hold the guest thumbprint tree as well as the postcards people are going to write their well-wishes on. :)

BHLDN.
I am extremely excited for Valentine's Day this year even more than normal, for the simple fact that it's the same day Anthropologie launches their wedding line. Just in time for my very own wedding. :) I haven't gotten the best glimpse yet at the line, but there were quite a few people who got a sneak peek and posted photos to my excitement. :) The top 3 are my favorites.

Wedding Party Entrance Order.
After over a half hour of placing everyone in every order imaginable, I came to the conclusion with Charles's help of how the entry was going to work out. I wanted to stagger the 3 different dresses perfectly in an order that would make sense color-wise. I also had to incorporate the fact that even though Gregg is the best man, Brady is walking in front of Gregg during the entrance since his wife, McKenna, is my maid of honor, and then they're switching. But I finally figured it out:

Shepherd is one of my bridesmaid's cousin and an extremely talented videographer. When I saw his work, I knew right away that I needed to snag him for my wedding. Here is a sample video of his work, of a wedding he shot this past year.

Theme & Color Scheme.
The color scheme of the wedding are these, or at least colors extremely close to these.
The theme we are going for is a whimsical vintage with hints of country in it, to incorporate the theme of the southern summer wedding location. Here are some photos of wedding ideas I greatly enjoy just to give you all a sneak peek into what I am thinking it'll look like, generally:
The Engagement.
The Engagement
January 16, 2011
I forgot to write about the even that started it all! :) On Sunday, January 16th, Charles and I became officially engaged. We spent the day at the Dallas Museum of Art with Brady and McKenna, enjoying the company of each other and the extremely unique pieces of art to say the least. When we got back to their apartment, McKenna began to light candles and also set up communion. We gathered around the plate of bread and glass of red wine, and Brady opened in prayer. Then Charles began to speak directly to me. The ENTIRE time I had absolutely no idea that what was happening was about to happen. Lucky for me, McKenna captured the entire moment in photographs.
The Proposal
"I wanted to remember this day how Christ has shed His blood and had His body broken all for us. Within communion I am reminded of the many names God has for Himself and for us. He calls us His bride and as His bride He lovingly gave Himself for us, He humbled himself to the point of death for us. In Ephesians 6 there is a call for husbands to do the same thing, and so I would like to ask you if you would be my wife, and if I can be your husband to live out the call, to die to myself daily for you my love?"
